Mr. George Tsai, founder of Fairmont Designs, whose international background contributes significantly to building FD to become a successful global business today. Mr. Tsai was born and educated in Taiwan until his teens, he subsequently further his schooling in Japan and thd U.S.A. Gratudated with high honors from Cornell University, Mr. Tsai also earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley.

Raised in a traditional and well-known family famous in the wood manufacturing industry, Mr. Tsai gained early knowledge and developed keen interest in designing wooden furniture. While working for Procter & Gamble in the early 1980's, he dreamed of establishing a business of his own, pursuing his interest in the wood business. Known to be a man of action, Mr. Tsai established Fairmont Designs in 1984, naming his new company after an elegant hotel he often passed on the way home.
